Social & Digital Media Specs
Exact dimensions, aspect ratios, and file specs for every major placement — organic and paid. Built for design handoff and media planning, not for guessing at export time.
Specs verified against current published platform guidance, June 2026. Pixel dimensions and especially file-size caps shift without notice — treat anything below as accurate-until-the-next-UI-update, and confirm ad specs in the platform's own ad manager before a live build.

Cross-platform rules that save reworks
- Design at 1080px width minimum. It is the universal feed standard. Build a 9:16 master at 1080×1920 and derive the other crops from it — one source, every placement.
- Vertical wins the feed. 4:5 (1080×1350) is the 2026 default for static feed posts across IG, FB, LinkedIn, Threads, X; 9:16 (1080×1920) is the only ratio for short-form video. Square and landscape still render but lose screen real estate.
- Respect the safe zone on all 9:16 content. Keep text, logos, and CTAs inside the centre ~1080×1420 — clear of the top ~250px (handle/UI) and bottom ~250–350px (caption, buttons, engagement rail). Right edge ~120px is the action-button column on Reels/TikTok.
- One master image cannot fit every platform. The spread from 1.91:1 (FB link card) to 9:16 (TikTok) means a single export always loses something. Build a multi-aspect template.
- File format: JPG for photos (quality 85–90), PNG for logos/text/transparency, MP4 (H.264 + AAC) for video. WebP is accepted on most platforms in 2026 but JPG remains the safe universal fallback.
- AI-content disclosure is now enforced on Meta, TikTok, and YouTube. Non-disclosed synthetic media gets auto-flagged and can have reach throttled — toggle the label at upload.
